Giveaway - It Invloves Wine!

So, who likes baseball?  Even better, who likes wine?  Even better, better, who likes fun wine glasses for their wine?

Well, you have come to the right place.  Baseball season is in full swing and it's time to get your game face on!

Mrs. Taylor Brigham contacted me about giving away one of her custom made wine glasses showcasing your favorite baseball team.  I have fallen in love with Taylor and her etsy shop.  She is precious and her glasses are made with absolute love and passion.  She just moved to Texas (even more reason to LOVE her) because her hubby is now one of the pitchers for the Texas Rangers!  Pretty fabulous, eh?!?  I think so!

Maybe she will send me an autographed ball or even better, an autographed wine glass!

So, who wants to be taken out to the ballgame in style?

Look how cute the base of the glasses are!!  She can design one for any National or American League team.  These also make great gifts for any baseball fan. This is a guaranteed home run! So, check out her shop and make sure to enter the giveaway!

I will announce the lucky winner on Thursday, May 24th.

Good luck...let the game begin!

It's a First for Me...

Top & Skirt:Forever 21 | Shoes:Strut in Austin | Necklace:Francesca's | Bracelets: Vintage, Charlotte Russe & Forever 21

I did it!  I mixed patterns!  I know, I know, I am a little tardy with my achievement, but better late than never, right?  I mean, I get the whole color blocking trend, but intertwining separate patterns has been a little tricky for me.

I see so many fashion bloggers successfully pairing stripes with florals...florals with polka dots...polka dots with leopard...you get the picture.  I just have not been able to put together the right mix that I felt comfortable wearing...until now.  Maybe it's because I was taught at a very young age to match my clothes. I am still a work in progress with the concept of not being "matchy-match".

It might be subtle, but I am taking baby steps.  We all have to walk before we can run. I decided upon mixing shapes...I thought that would be a safe place to start.  So, polka dots and squares it it is!  It is sort of hard to tell from the pictures, but if you squint hard enough, you can see that my skirt has tiny black squares on it...not dots.

So, there you go, my very first mix-match. Yay, me?!?!?

What pattern combos do you like to wear? Or do you even like it at all?

Cheers to mixing and mingling your wardrobe!

Today I am linking up with these two ladies.  Hop on over for some more fun!

A Forever Friend

Top:Lauren Conrad @ Kohl's | Skirt:Forever 21 | Shoes:Lucky Brand | Jewelry:Forever 21
If you have been reading my blog, you know it's no secret or surprise that I have a slight addiction to Forever 21. Many of you have commented that you don't ever have any luck shopping there.  I am not sure if it's because the one close to you doesn't carry a large selection or if it's because yours is too big and you don't know where to start.  I also think people tend to shy away because there is a perception that Forever 21 is geared toward teens, women in their early twenties, for the super slender and is not well made...for lack of a better term, cheap.

I am here to defend my shopping mecca.  I have numerous pieces that I have purchased from there that still look brand new.  In fact, no lie, I have a khaki pencil shirt that I purchased there nearly five years ago. Yes, my friends, Forever 21 actually carries timeless, classic pieces.

I receive more compliments on a $29.00 dress I get from there than an $100.00 one from Banana Republic.  It never fails and people always seemed shocked at the fact that it came from Forever 21.

And their accessories, I almost refuse to shop for jewelry anywhere else.  I am not going to say that I have never had a necklace break or a ring discolor my finger slightly, but for the most part their jewelry is pretty durable and you just can't beat the prices.

I can't stress enough that with all their different lines, there is something for every lady, no matter your size or shape. The best part, being the budget shopper that I am, is I can walk out of there with a bag full of goodies for $100 or less.

If you don't have a Forever 21 close buy; their online store is pretty fabulous.  I have found the accessory section to be much larger online than in stores.  Take a peek, you just might be surprised at what you find!

I will hold this store dear to my heart.  We have a very strong bond...somewhat of a monogamous relationship. Well, I say that until the day (hopefully in the VERY near future) that H&M finally opens in Austin. Then, I will have to seriously rethink my relationships.

What store could you be a spokesperson for?

Zapping the Zit Scars

I haven't done a product review in awhile, because frankly, there hasn't been one that I have fallen completely head-over-heels in love with.  I feel as though, if I am going to post about a product on the www, it MUST be one that I 100% believe in.  I don't want anyone to ever doubt my reviews, as I trust the ones I read from you ladies!!

So, the lucky winner today is the Clinque Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Remover.

I have dealt with sensitive skin and acne all of my life.  As crazy as it sounds, the worst of it has been in my adulthood.  I would get the typical teenage breakouts, but when I entered into my mid twenties, I started getting serious cystic acne.  Not fun and a complete self-esteem blow.  Some of them stuck around for so long, that I named them...let me correct myself...my friends named them.  A few of my facial friends foes, had the names Zelda and Zenith.  It was that BAD.  I would spend hundreds of dollars and shed few many tears going to the dermatologist for Cortisone shots.  Yes, I would get needles planted right into my face.  It was the ONLY thing that would get rid of the mound of pressure and nastiness.  And because I can't seem to leave the pimped out pimples alone {insert pick, squeeze, push and poke} I have been left with battle wounds.

I decided that there had to be something out there that would somewhat help with the acne scarring.  I did my online research and came across Clinque's Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Remover.  It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but after all the money I have forked over to my Dermo, I told myself that it was worth a shot.

I could not be happier with the results thus far.  It is like rubbing pure silk onto your skin.  I have been using it twice a day, morning and night, for the last 4 weeks.  It has not only resulted in fading my scars, but I feel like it has really helped clear my skin.

And it's not just for acne scarring.  It is a serum that reduces dark spots, age spots and hyperpigmentation as well. Using the serum twice a day, Clinique claims that results can be visible within as little as 4 weeks, with dramatic results after using it for a full 12 weeks. The serum is not meant to lighten your skin (i.e., make you paler); it targets the areas of skin that have more pigmentation to create an even skin tone.

The price for the small bottle is $50 and the large bottle is $70.  It sounds like a lot, but I promise, it's worth every penny.   I only wish that I would have started using this years ago.

As I continue my use, my fingers are crossed for further results.  I highly recommend giving it a try.  And again, I only post reviews of products I stand behind 100%.

I am sorry that I don't have any before/after pictures to share, you will just have to take my word for it.  Have I ever let you down before?

And as always, I would love to hear if you have any products that you love, especially ones that improve skin tone.  Next battle to conquer, the crows feet that have decided to land at the corners of my eyes!!

Cheers to zapping the wounds from Zelda and Zenith!

Ellen's Take on Christian Grey....

Double post on a Friday.  What? What??? You are probably thinking why isn't she at Happy Hour?

But, I couldn't resist....I just had to share.  I could not stop laughing.  God love Ellen. My good friend Amy with Amy in Austin told me about this video and I jumped on Google as fast as I could.  I was dying to see Ellen's take on 50 Shades of Grey.

Even though this made me roll out of my rollie chair with laughter, the book is seriously soooooooo much more!! Don't be frightened if this is your first glimpse of the book...I promise, cross my heart, it is a true love story....and true connection of two people...I think...as far as I can tell...just a few pages away from finishing the first book!  I will be downloading 2 & 3 to my phone in the VERY near future!

So, happy Friday....once again....and enjoy your weekend!

Cheers to Ellen!

Preoccupied...

I am sorry for the short, almost non-existent post today...I have a job to finish and it looks something like this...

Holy, hell this book is like crack rock.  I haven't read a book this fast in all my years. If you haven't jumped on the Christian Grey happy trail, you are missing out my friends...just get ready and strap on a seat belt...that's all I have to say. Whew! And don't judge me...I know for a fact that I am not the only lady out there reading this, eh, uhm, mmmm, whirl-wind romance novel, if you will.

By they way, I am kind of over here today.  I sponsored my very first blog, Two Smuppies.  She is almost as juicy and addicting as 50 Shades of Grey.  I promise, she will make you laugh, snort and giggle out loud.  It's no holds barred for this crazy girl, her Sharkdog and Manturd...you have to check her out.  She never lets me down!!

Happy Friday and Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!!

Cheers to going back to Mr. Grey's world...and it's not anything like vanilla ice cream...if you know what I mean!

Hair Raising Surprise

Dress:Old Navy | Sandals:Old Navy | Necklaces:F21, Thrifted, Accessory Auctions | Bracelet:Thrifted | Ring:F21

I always wash my hair in the morning, blow dry and then straighten it, but the other night I washed it and went to bed with semi-wet hair. To my surprise, I woke up with beach wave hair.  What?  Did the hair fairy come for a visit?  There is NO WAY that I, born with straight, fine hair, could have anything remotely close to waves!  Like I said, WHAT?!?

Well, it happened!  And, I think know that I accidentally found my new "go to" hair. I have always been told to have some patience...this just took a tad bit longer than I anticipated!

I woke up, looked in the mirror and was like, "Heeeeeeyyyyyyy, hair, where did you come from?"  All I did was use a little hair spray, threw on a headband and wala! Amazingly it stayed all day!

I think my flat iron is a little bit jealous. Due to this new "do", I haven't given it any attention in two days!  My hair is so grateful for the distance. I think it was beginning to feel a little claustrophobic.  I mean, we were pretty tight with the flat iron for awhile, but everyone needs a break once in awhile, right?

Has the hair fairy visited you recently?  Do you have a no maintenance style?  If so, please share...I am all about trying to beat the heat...for hair's sake!

Cheers to a hair raising surprise!

Today I am linking up with these two ladies.  Hop on over for some more fun!
